The First Edition has this collectable old Agatha Christie book for sale, Agatha Christie The Seven Dials Mystery, which is a sequel to the Agatha Christie The Secret of Chimneys book.
The Seven Dials Mystery was published by W. Collins Sons & Co Ltd [Glasgow, Sydney, Auckland] in 1929, the same year as the first edition first issue book which was published on 24th January 1929.
Please Note: The first edition first issue book had a black cloth binding and red lettering. This edition has a blue cloth binding and black lettering and is dated to the Copyright Page 1929. Hence, it is believed that this is the first edition second issue book.
The original publisher’s blue boards are in Very Good condition with small white marks to the front board, back board and spine; slight knocks to the top and bottom of the spine; and slight corner knocks.
There are 276 numbered pages and six pages of advertisements to the end of the book, exactly as per the first edition first issue book of earlier that year.
This wonderful Agatha Christie book has plain white endpapers to the front and back of the book; the Half Title Page; summary of The Seven Dials Mystery story entitled ‘This Is The Story’; the Title Page; the Copyright Page; and the Contents Page consisting of two pages.
The pages are very clean and in overall Very Good condition with only light foxing to the edges of the pages.
This is a wonderful early old Agatha Christie book, coming from the authoress of the Hercule Poirot and Miss Jane Marple series of crime fiction and fictional detective novels, that will make a wonderful addition to any Agatha Christie book collection, or to anyone who collects detective fiction books or crime fiction books.
